dc.description.abstractAntibiotic resistance is rising to dangerous levels all over the world, finding a novel antibiotic and other bioactive microbial metabolites is a beneficial step, considering the number of harmful microorganisms that are becoming resistant to drugs.  This study was conducted to detect the antagonistic ability of Rhizobium sp bacteria, which was isolated from the Viciae faba plant's roots, that effect on pathogenic bacteria like Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus sp as gram positive bacteria, and E. coli, as gram negative bacteria and Saccharomyces sp, Candida sp as fungi, were examined using the antagonistic method. The inhibition zone on Mueller- Hinton Agar against Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus sp, E. coli, Saccharomyces sp, Candida sp were a 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm 20 mm, 22 mm respectively. This antagonistic isolate may can control pathogens microbes via the competition for resources, the excretion of metabolites in the medium, which includes antibiotics, and the activity compounds to kill these pathogenic bacteria.
