Source Rock Evaluation of the Lower and the Upper Silurian Tanazefet Shale
Omer Musa, Mohamed; Mohamed Elyounsi, Mousa
Core samples of Tanazeft Shale from two wells at Murzuq Basin were collected and analyzed in the Pyrolysis Rock Eval instrument for source rock evaluation includes source rock quality and quantity. The studied samples were collected from NC 115 and NC 174 blocks. The analysis results of total organic carbon (TOC) are the parameter that was used to determine organic matter (OM) richness of shale samples understudy and source rock type was identified as Kerogen type II .This was done by using the cross plot between both Hydrogen and Oxygen Indexes (HI & OI) of the sample results. All indications from sample results shoes that the lower part of Tanazefet Formation (Hot Shale Member) is a very good source rock while the upper part is a poor source rock. These analyses shoes also the kerogen type of the Hot Shale Member is type II which indicate oil prone stage.

Synthesis and Study on Biological Effect of The (1E,4E)-1,5- bis (4-nitrophenyl) penta-1,4-dien-3-one
Saad Muftah, Mohamed; Abdslam Shebany, Mohamed; M. Zaiad, Galal
The (1E,4E)-1,5-bis (4-nitrophenyl) penta-1,4-dien-3-one (3) was synthesized by treatment of acetone with 4-nitrobenzaldehyde using 1:2 mol. respectively in the presence of basic medium of sodium hydroxide in a good yield. The structure of the prepared compound was characterized by elemental analysis, IR,1H-NMR, and mass spectra. The newly prepared compound was screened for the antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (G-) and Staphylococcus aureus (G+) bacterial strains by the disc diffusion method, and for their antifungal activity against Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans in N,Ndimethylformamide by the agar diffusion method. The results of the test compound exhibited low cadre of antibacterial and antifungal activities compared with the standard drug Amikacin, therefore, minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) were not determined for the test compound.

Arabic Language Character Recognition using Walsh- Hadamard Transform (WHT) vs. Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT)
Gamati, EmadEddin; F. Elbokhare, Anisa; M.Soliman, Amani
One of the common used methods for text recognition (especially with Arabic text), is the usage of character Databases for driving the training and validation (for all the different methods that are used for preprocessing, segmentation and recognition). There are no inclusive and dependable databases for all Arabic letters particularly when considering the four different shapes for each Arabic character (based on the character position inside the word).
In [1], the researchers presented a new Arabic Optical Character Recognition
"AOCR" approach called "sliding window for printed AOCR" method (segmentationfree character recognition independent of a lexicon of words). It works based on matching the content of the targeted text image/document with a small pre-prepared database to find the positions of the recognized characters in the scanned image. The AOCR experiment is implemented using WHT/DCT and is applied using three different font types and nine different font sizes. In this paper, we tested the same proposed "AOCR" method using a different implementation (WHT/DFT).
